Charity Golf Classic

Each September I have the honour of hosting the Newmarket Mayor’s Charity Golf Classic at Cardinal Golf Club.  The tournament brings together more than 250 golfers for a day of golf and fun for a good cause.  The funds the tournament raises are used to provide opportunities for youth and at risk residents in our community.  Recent examples of funding provided by the golf tournament include the rebuilding of the playground at the Newmarket Co-Op Housing development, a donation to the York Region Food Network’s back to school backpack program and funding to INN From The Cold for the purchase of a commercial grade dishwasher.  Since 1996, the Newmarket Mayor’s Charity Golf Classic has raised over $300,000.00.
