This morning, Newmarket’s first electric bus was charged up and it was a rewarding experience to join local partners on its first trip across Davis Drive.
It was great to see our federal government partner with York Region Government and the private sector to deliver innovative green and clean technology to our region.
Thank you, Natural Resources Canada for providing $957,000 to help Newmarket-Tay procure, install, operate and maintain one 450kW overhead bus charging station.
This project brings us one step closer to York Region’s commitment to producing zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2051.
