Last week, Minister LeBlanc announced the launch of the application process for funding under the National Crime Prevention Strategy (NCPS). Eligible organizations will be able to apply for funding from November 1st to December 20th, 2024.
An estimated $123.5 million will be available over the next five years. In addition, an annual $700,000 portion of NCPS funding will be available for projects that focus specifically on preventing bullying and cyber bullying.
This investment will support community-led crime prevention efforts tailored to at-risk and vulnerable youth, particularly Indigenous and racialized youth, youth involved in violence, and youth with repeat contacts with the criminal justice system.
Through the National Crime Prevention Strategy, we’re strengthening federal leadership by investing to prevent crimes before they happen. This announcement of a new injection of funds ($123.5 million over the next five years) means we can support more projects that target gun violence, auto theft, gang involvement, violent crimes and repeat offending across Canada.
From November 1st, 2024, to December 20th, 2024, organizations can apply for funding under the NCPS to support community-led crime prevention efforts tailored to at-risk and vulnerable youth, particularly Indigenous and racialized youth, youth involved in violence, and youth with repeat contacts with the criminal justice system.

This builds on our efforts to counter crime, and since 2018 we’ve invested about $1.3 billion in policing, border enforcement and gang prevention strategies. We will continue to do everything we need to do to keep Canadians safe.
